Coir has many tiny 'caves' and pores which hold onto water and nutrition so it isn't flushed through the mix so quickly. Precision Coir has been designed for use in applications where a finer product is required, therefore Precision has been screened to remove the longer fibres. The end product is a fine, consistent coir pith which is friable and suitable for applications such as cell tray filling and fine potting. It has a high CEC that promotes healthy, robust root growth.

Coir will need approximately 8 litres of water per kilogram of coir to fully hydrate. It is this process that expands the compressed coir up to its potential. After that point, the coir should remain expanded then for the life of the plant growing.
